An Assistant Professor, Fitchburg State University online MBA in Healthcare Management program has passed away on Tuesday, April 30. John Crawley was a well-liked and respected member of the faculty in the Business Administration Department at the institution. Crawley served in a variety of senior management and law positions with regional, national, and global responsibilities throughout his 34-year career in high technology with Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computers, and Hewlett Packard (HP). By the time he reached the position of Chief Contracts/Procurement Counsel for the Services Division of HP, he had reached the pinnacle of his career.
John Crawley’s goal was not only make each student a lawyer, but also to provide visibility to key legal, ethical, and business issues that enable students to become better business (and life) decision makers.
In addition, he served as an adjunct professor at Fitchburg State University for fourteen years, Clark University for eighteen years, and Assumption College for ten years before he decided to retire early from HP and assume a full-time post as a professor at Fitchburg State. Following the completion of my Juris Doctor degree and before to receiving the news that he had passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam, John started his teaching career at the collegiate level during the summer of 1989.
