- Goffstown, New Hampshire
Goffstown, New Hampshire is home to Saint Anselm College, a Benedictine education institution that is a private liberal arts college. In New England, it is the third-oldest Catholic institution, having been established in the year 1888. Despite the fact that it is named after Saint Anselm of Canterbury, the institution continues to be connected to Saint Anselm Abbey, which is a Benedictine abbey that is fully operational and functions independently. In 2017, the number of students enrolled there was roughly 2,000.
The Alumni Hall, which was constructed in 1891, is widely recognized as the focal point of the campus. A number of classes in philosophy and theology, in addition to the “Conversatio” program, are needed to fulfill the requirements of the college’s academic curriculum. Since the 1950s, the college has been involved in the “first in the nation” primary election in New Hampshire, and it has also been a stage for a great number of future presidents, candidates, and supporters.
